Summer vacation 2010

Like pioneers of long ago, we left Kansas City and drove to South Dakota. Along the way we stopped at Mitchell Corn Palace, the Badlands, and Wall Drug. Then on to Mt. Rushmore for a photo op with former presidents.
We visited the Crazy Horse monument - which someday will be the largest sculpture in the world. Here is a small model of it now:

Then we spent 4 days in Yellowstone National Park. We were surprised that in early June, there was still snow on many roadsides!! We enjoyed seeing the buffalo, the geysers, and of course, the waterfalls at Yellowstone Canyon.
